The Fake Fact is a detective game that was created to bring awareness of fake news that is now rampant. A fact-checking puzzle it is, allows players to experience the process of sorting out the truth in such an information explosion era, focused on how fake news exposure during election and war period could have been influenced.
The puzzle is double-sided, the front sides are images stand for truth/ fake information, whilst the back sides are written with news headlines/excerpts that refer to each article and news. The truth puzzle(white frame) features more ears and eyes while the fake news puzzle(black frame) has more mouth, reflecting that facts need no extra explanation, yet fake news always comes from he said she said. Players have to put the puzzle piece in the right frame, by collecting all evidence together and figuring out the right answers.

The two images were designed to be very similar that can hardly be recognised when the pieces mix together, echoing the way how false information spread on the internet in a perfect disguise-- with attention-grabbing headlines, following the eyes-catching photo in an effort to gain clicks, hardly can you recognise truth or fake information through scanning the titles, while they looked almost the same in appearance. Only by checking the sources and reading beyond the whole story can help you spot the fakes.
